Young Apprenticeships
Engineering
The Engineering Programme is aimed at Year 10 students. It allows young people to gain a theoretical understanding of the industry as well as obtaining vital practical skills. The aim of the programme is to achieve a minimum of four Level 2 units in:
- Working Safely in an engineering environment
- Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
- Using and communicating technical information
- Producing Engineering drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Programme content
- Learner’s will attend our fully equipped Training Centre in Crewe for half a day per week over two years (this can be increased to 1 day per week if desired)
- Each individual will receive training on various skills such as machining, electrical, fitting and fabrication
Learners can be placed on work placement within companies for up to 50 days where they can gain an insight into the industry - Work placements are well structured and allow learners to develop strong employability skills
Addtional Qualifications
We also deliver the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health course which provides learner’s with a nationally recognised certificate in Health & Safety.
Further Information
On completion, most Young Apprentices choose to continue in full-time education and training, strongly valuing the skills they have gained and are very positive about their experiences.
You will also be made aware of the qualifications available to you once you have finished your Young Apprenticeship programme, such as Foundation Degrees.
