How to Apply
Step 1
Before you can start to browse the website you need to complete an Application Form to be shared with Learning Providers/Employers/Schools and Colleges so that they can contact you to talk about suitable opportunities. To do this click on the Application Form tab on the sidebar of the My Home page.
Step 2
Complete the Application Form as accurately as possible making sure you complete all the fields marked with an asterisk.
Step 3
You are now ready to start searching for your vacancy. You can do this in several ways of which are listed at the top of the page.
If you know the sort of job you are interested in select an Occupation Type from the dropdown list and then a job role from the following dropdown list.
If you can’t see what you’re looking for try a Keyword search for example “car engines” or “beauty therapy.”
You need to choose an area to look for vacancies in, so select one from the list of counties or change to By Postcode. Your home postcode will have been entered automatically (showing vacancies in a 10 mile radius) but you can change the distance to your preference.
Click Search to see the search results.
Remember the smaller the area, the fewer jobs will be returned so you may need to Refine your search and make the search area larger.
Step 4
Once you are satisfied with your results it is time to read into them. Select the link that is most appealing to you from the initial Search Results page.
If there are several options that interest you that you would like to look at again select Save Search first. Once you have more than one saved search you can create a Favourite Search by ticking the box in the “favourites” column on the Saved Searches page. The system will search every day and tell you when there are new results for your favourite search through messages on your Apprentice account and you can also have an email or text alert.
Step 5
Read the vacancy details and check if you have the requirements needed and the job meets your requirements too, if not then click the Back button at the bottom of the page to take you back to the initial Search Results page. If you think this may be the vacancy for you, you could either Print the description, click the Save Vacancy button to come back to it another time or Apply.
Step 6
If you are interested in a vacancy always check that your profile is correct, complete and up to date before applying.
