About the apprenticeship
We are looking for a Bus Engineering Apprentice to join us for our Apprentice intake in May 2020!
Do you want to be part of our energetic team of Engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of vehicles? If yes, then this Body Apprenticeship could just be the job for you!
Get paid whilst gaining the experience and qualifications to become a fully qualified Body Technician with First UK Bus in Sheffield
What will you be doing?
- You will carry out the foundations tasks involving basic mechanical and electrical and coachbuilder procedures including: the safe use of hand tools and workshop equipment; safe use of power tools; the use of mechanical and electronic measuring equipment; test equipment and gauges
- You will learn to manufacture, repair and fit body parts, panels and body fixings access panels
- Undertake repairs or complete fabrication processes using Gas, Mig or Tig welding
- We will teach you to use specialist body repair equipment, preparations and finishing processes, including painting and much more
- We want people who enjoy seeing how things work and who aren't afraid to get dirty, you must share our passion for achieving excellence in the smallest of detail
- And take great pride in ensuring our vehicles always run efficiently, look their best and are well maintained and presented
