Childcare Apprentice

Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company called Giggle and Grow Limited. The role will be to work as a childcare apprentice within the nursery.

About the apprenticeship

The role will be to work as a childcare apprentice within the nursery, core activities including;

• Help ensure the safety and security of children in the setting
• Promoting the children's learning and enjoyment through planned play experiences
• Supporting children's care routines such as meal and sleep times
• Helping to prepare, carry out and clear away a wide range of childcare activities and resources
• Care for and look after children during outdoor play
• Supporting language acquisition and language skills
• Supervise and support children's play extending their interests
• Making sure children feel safe and secure at all times
• Adhering to settings policies and procedures

The minimum hours per week will be 20 hours 
 

Apprenticeship qualification and training

• Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard

About the employer

Giggle and Grow has two-day nurseries located on Horsedge Street, Oldham, close to the Town Centre and another on Glodwick Road. We also have Ofsted registered nurseries, giving you complete assurance over the standard of our day nursery. Our Ofsted report can be found on the internet at www.ofsted.gov.uk or a copy can be requested from the nursery. 

At Giggle and Grow Nurseries, we believe that a nursery is only as good as its people. We have a diverse team of staff who each bring individual qualities to our team. The nursery is managed by the owners, Janine and Joanne who have run the nursery since June 2005.

Both hold a BA Honours in Early Years leadership, demonstrating their fantastic knowledge of the role.

Our deputy managers and room leaders also hold a higher level of childcare qualification. It is a requirement that all staff undertake training in early years as well as additional training to continually update their knowledge and skills. All staff are subject to enhanced disclosure checks, ensuring we provide the best possible child care and day nursery for all children.
