About the apprenticeship

The apprentice scheme will run for a period of 4 years. During this time, you will cover a broad base of training including Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumental. You will do this by completing day release at College and successive placements across the account in different areas to bring your skill level up to the required standard. In the 4th year you will be placed into an area which is deemed likely that a position will become vacant to the end of the course.

Daily duties may include the following:

  • Assisting with site maintenance
  • Reactive repairs to equipment
  • Installing and Testing wiring systems
  • Maintain electrical equipment
  • Diagnose faulty electrical equipment
The scheme is supported by ‘Total People’ who are specialist training providers and provide expert support. You will be line managed within the Sodexo account and have fixed term contract until the end of your apprenticeship, at which time efforts will be made by the Senior Leadership Team to actively place you into a role through the account succession plan system.

This role consists of 37.5 hours per week over 5 days Monday – Friday, some flexibility in working hours and overtime may be required at times to meet business needs.

At Sodexo, we are committed to a leading role in promoting equal opportunities and valuing diversity and inclusion. We seek to create a work environment based on mutual respect for all individuals, building a culture that appreciates and values the experiences and skills brought by each person to benefit our organization and work hard to ensure that all people, whatever their age, disability, gender, transgender, marital or family status, race or ethnicity, religious belief or sexual orientation are welcomed to and included within our business.
Future Prospects

It is expected that following a successful apprenticeship, a full time position will be made available to the right candidates, based on company finances at the time.
