About the apprenticeship

Tower Transit is a dynamic and innovative bus operator, and a key player in London and Singapore, two of the world’s top cities. 

The Apprentice training programme combines practical workplace training with classroom study and gives successful candidates the skills needed to work as an Engineering Technician.  

The role will involve working with the current technical engineering team to maintain and develop the Tower Transit bus fleet, including:

  • Diagnostics
  • Servicing
  • Repairs
  • Maintenance 
  • Preparing of vehicles for MoT

The apprenticeship training programme will be accredited by the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) and will last for 3 years. The training will consist of ‘on the job’ learning that will be undertaken at Tower Transit bus depots and students will also attend College to gain the underpinning knowledge.

On completion of the 3 year programme, apprentices will receive a nationally recognised qualification; PSV Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair. The working hours will be 39 per week Monday-Friday whilst completing your apprenticeship.  The salary in the first year will be £260 p/w. This pay rate increases after 12 and 24 months service to £348 p/w and £435 p/w respectively.

The training you will receive includes:

  • Bus & Coach Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair 
  • Technical Certificate Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Maths, English and ICT Functional Skills

Applicants must be studying for or have qualifications in maths, English and a Science or Craft based subject, to a minimum Grade 4 (GCSE) or equivalent.
