About the apprenticeship

We are looking for a Bus Engineering Apprentice to join us in Adderley Green for our Apprentice intake in September 2019!

Get paid whilst gaining the experience and qualifications to become a fully qualified Engineer with First UK Bus in Adderley Green. This is a Body apprenticeship.

As a Bus Engineering Apprentice, you will earn £5.63 p/h in year 1. You will be working 39 hours per week (working hours – Monday to Friday)

You'll need to be ready to get stuck into all kinds of challenges from general maintenance and making modifications to fault diagnosis and keeping our interiors and exteriors spick and span along with learning with our partner provider who will support you throughout your learning journey with us.

You will carry out the foundations tasks involving basic mechanical and electrical and coachbuilder procedures including: the safe use of hand tools and workshop equipment; safe use of power tools; the use of mechanical and electronic measuring equipment; test equipment and gauges.

duties to include:

  • learn to manufacture, repair and fit body parts, panels and body fixings access panels
  • Undertake repairs or complete fabrication processes using Gas, Mig or Tig welding
  • We will teach you to use specialist body repair equipment, preparations and finishing processes, including painting and much more
