About the apprenticeship

Global Dental; is looking for an enthusiastic engineering maintenance apprentices. The role will be varied and offer an excellent introduction into engineering to the successful candidate. Core roles will include;

  • Working on production machinery
  • Organisation of routine servicing schedules
  • Checking and calibrating instruments
  • Fitting new parts
  • Quality inspections
  • Emergency breakdowns
  • Fixing faults, arranging for replacement equipment
  • Equipment installation
  • Following manufacturer's technical manuals
  • Fault finding
  • Using test instruments and tools

As an Apprentice you will receive onsite support and development as well as offsite training on a day release basis.

By the end of your Apprenticeship you will be able to:

  • To carry out and complete projects as scheduled each day in a engineering capacity
  • To manage personal parts inventory, balancing value with service capability
  • To continuously research and assess new product and market opportunities
  • To instrument and assist in compliance activities within the company

Future Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out and complete all engineering projects as scheduled by the in-house controller each day
  • Repairing and Servicing Dental Chairs, Suction Systems, Compressed Air Systems, X-Ray Machines and other such associated dental equipment
  • Managing parts inventory, balancing the value of parts held and the capability to deliver extremely high customer service
  • To spend time researching new products, and when working with the directors, assess and analyse potential for bringing to market
  • To assist in ensuring the company is entirely compliant to current regulations, and assist in compiling any necessary documents to support and uphold that
  • To work as a key part of the sales team, developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements to help the team achieve its overall target of 100 new practices in 2016
  • Working on after-sales support services and providing technical back up as required, including arranging and carrying out product training
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts, providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales and engineering team
