We are currently recruiting for two apprentices to join the Cheshire Team based at the Macclesfield/Alderley Park Sites. Reporting to the Sodexo Apprentice Manager, you will be a proactive customer focused individual with an exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels.
The apprentice scheme will run for a period of 4 years. During this time, you will cover a broad base of training including Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumental skills. You will do this by completing day release at College and placements within our specific Refrigeration/HVAC Commissioning teams across the account in different areas to bring your skill level up to the required standard. In the 4th year you will be placed into an area which is deemed likely that a position will become vacant to the end of the course.
Daily duties will involve:
Assisting with onsite maintenance
Assisting with planned maintenance of equipment
Reactive repairs to equipment
Assisting with obtaining safe systems of work permits
Compiling risk assessments
The College placement is likely to be in Manchester, if successful you would be expected to make your own travel arrangement to attend college.
The scheme is supported by ‘Total People’ who are specialist training providers and provide expert training support. You will be line managed within the Sodexo/AstraZeneca account, and have fixed term contracts until the end of your apprenticeship, at which time efforts will be made by the Senior Leadership Team to actively place you into a role through the account succession plan system.
The successful candidate ideally should understand the services involved, be well presented, have good communication skills, have a hands-on approach, flexibility and the ability to use own initiative when necessary, be able to build a good relationship with internal and external clients on site.
This role consists of 37.5 hours per week over 5 days Monday – Friday, some flexibility in working hours and overtime may be required at times to meet business needs.
