Cobalt Systems are recruiting a Technical Sales Apprentice role, to complement our ambitious sales team, developing business in our impressive blue-chip customer base.
This is an early career opportunity which, for the right individual will lead to fast progression into a prestigious Technical Sales career.
Applicants must be highly motivated with a winning attitude. A confident and polite manner complemented by an enquiring style is essential to build relationships with our senior level contacts and to uncover new opportunities.
Previous sales experience is not required.
The successful applicant will work towards an EAL Level 2 Diploma in engineering over an 18-month period on a part time basis.
Sales training will be provided both internally and externally with industry recognised certification. Applicants are expected to have a minimum of good GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths, a science and English, as well as evidence of further education and work experience.
The role will be customer facing with national travel, reporting to our UK Sales Manager based out of our offices in Crewe Cheshire
Principal accountabilities:
- Working with existing Cobalt sales and operations teams, approach existing accounts and seek feedback on their customer experience
- Use regular contact through telephone, online meets and physical face to face meets to understand the customers challenges and opportunities. Map their needs opposite Cobalt solutions matrix and identify white space
- Promote all Cobalt products and services offered through Automation Solutions, Technical Services and Barcode Solutions
- Update all intel on CRM system and communicate with sales team to ensure the right person is on the right task for optimal customer satisfaction and sales results
- Build and manage sales pipeline on CRM and deliver against sales order target
- Work with sales team to deliver required service levels by customer tier
- Manage margins achieved within margin markers and customer tier
- Collect NPS scores and feedback
- Develop a consultative sales approach and specialist skills required in our market
- Ensure all EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) course work is kept up to date and submitted timely
Just for completeness although this is a sales role, initially the learners will have to complete a Level 2 Engineering Operations Apprenticeship, if they want tasks for this you may want to include:
Initial Accountabilities:
- Working throughout the manufacturing and engineering facility to understand and gain an appreciation of product manufacture, build, design and test
- Hands on practical engineering activity and training
- Weekly structured workshop training at a dedicated engineering training facility in Crewe
- Completion of associated training tasks as directed by your appointed mentor and external training coach
- Attend client sites to aid with the all-round understanding of the business
- Work to strict health & safety policy
