Overview

Working alongside experienced and qualified staff you will learn Mechanical Fitting. We are looking for a new Apprentice to join our team.

About the apprenticeship

Working under supervision you will work towards being responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assemble, Test & Fit Mechanical Components
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Fault diagnosis and repair on engineering systems & equipment
  • To become skilled and conversant in the use of hand and machine tools
  • To work to route card disciplines, processes and procedure
  • To be pro-active & to actively seek ways to continually improve
  • Carry out reasonable instructions from Lead Engineers or Senior Managers
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety standards are maintained and that you show due diligence at all times
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures e.g., health and safety, training & development, quality, disciplinary & grievance and sickness & absence etc.
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests to meet the needs of the business

Apprenticeship qualification and training

Level 3 Apprenticeship in Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician, plus: Advanced Engineering Apprenticeships normally last three years during which time you will attend our Training Centre in Crewe on either block or day release followed by one day per week for basic training and Further Education. The remainder of your time will be spent with your employer, training in Engineering. We will monitor your Apprenticeship on a regular basis to ensure you achieve the standards required including core skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours in preparation for End point assessment and where required Functional Skills.
