Overview

Prestwich Preparatory School & Nursery are looking for a dynamic apprentice to join their team.

About the apprenticeship

Responsible to the Nursery Manager and Head Teacher.

Main Duties:

  • To work as a member of the team to provide a safe, caring, stimulating environment for the children in line with the EYFS.
  • To provide a wide variety of activities for the children that are suitable to their individual stages of development.
  • To ensure that child records, such as daily diaries, next steps and learning journals are kept up to date.
  • To build relationships with parents in order to reduce the division between home and nursery for the child.
  • To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of disability, family backgrounds or medical history.
  • To ensure the maintenance of adequate standards of cleanliness and hygiene for the children attending nursery. This includes changing nappies and toilet training.
  • To undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery e.g. cleansing of equipment, cleaning of the room, ensuring the nursery is kept clean and tidy.
  • To record accidents/incidents correctly.
  • To always ensure safeguarding procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • To assist with children’s lunchtime – serving lunch and snacks.
  • Participate in staff training such as safeguarding/first aid.
  • To ensure all policies/procedures and risk assessments are read, understood and adhered to.
  • To respect the confidentiality of all information received.
  • To carry out any other duties requested by the manager or Head Teacher that may be reasonable expected from a Nursery Practitioner.
  • To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times both within work hours and outside.

 

 

Apprenticeship qualification and training

Early Year Educator Standard level 3 delivered by Total People.

About the employer

We are a small, private school who caters for children’s educational needs from 0 – 11 years.

Our nursery room accommodates 0 – 2 year olds who progress to our Pre-school room at 3 years.
