The facilities management company becomes first #1M100 employer partner.

Total People’s £1million in 100 days campaign has launched in style after facilities management company Apleona became the first large employer to gift a fantastic £100,000 of unspent levy.

The UK facilities management and workspace services company gifted the amazing amount to support SME growth in Health and Social Care, ensuring a healthy start to the 100 day campaign.

Those funds can now go towards supporting SMEs to train up to 33 Adult Care Worker apprentices or up to 20 Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprentices, and in turn boosting employment in the sector.

Apleona HSG Facility Management, part of the global Apleona Group, is a provider of integrated facilities management at more than 250 UK and Ireland operational sites. It employs 3000+ people and currently has 16 apprentices in roles as diverse as Business Administration, Project Management and Electrical Maintenance.

Jane Podmore, Apleona HR Director (UK & Ireland), said: “The health and social care system is under particular pressure and we believe that by assisting in training the next generation to support in this vital area that we are doing our bit to help the wider community.

We are delighted and proud to be able to partner with Total People to put our unused levy to a great cause.

By gifting surplus levy, large employers can sponsor an apprenticeship in their chosen sector or industry, while at the same time supporting employment and skills development in SME businesses who benefit from fully funded apprenticeship training.

Leanne Shackleton, Levy Gifting Manager at Total People, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Apleona to support them with our gifting solution, which facilitates a really positive use of funds that would have otherwise gone unspent. Their gift will have a huge impact on the lives of multiple apprentices and I can’t wait to share with them the fantastic ways that their funds will make a difference.

“I urge other employers who have surplus levy funds to get in touch with me on 0371 705 2925 to discuss joining our £1million in 100 days campaign. Our gifting solution is a great way to meet your CSR agenda, costs you absolutely nothing and I will be on hand to support you throughout the entire process, answering any concerns you may have around gifting your surplus funds.”

Levy paying employers are those with a wage bill of over £3m and see 0.5 per cent of their payroll go to HMRC to the levy. In April 2019, the Government made it possible for levy paying employers to ‘gift’ up to 25% of their apprenticeship Levy to fund new apprenticeships.
