Total People is calling on large employers to gift unspent levy funds for SME growth following the launch of a life-changing £1m in 100 days campaign during National Apprenticeship Week (3-9 February).
As one of the North West’s largest providers of apprenticeships and training, Total People’s #1M100 campaign aims to see £1million of levy funds gifted in just 100 days, allowing small and medium enterprises to upskill their staff through apprenticeships.
Levy paying employers can visit a dedicated web page www.totalpeople.co.uk/million and simply fill out the application form. Smaller and medium enterprises looking to access funding to upskill employees can add their details onto a dedicated web page https://www.totalpeople.co.uk/sme.
Gina Steele, Managing Director, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for large levy paying businesses to make a real difference to people’s lives, assisted by the expert help of Total People.
“Each pound of levy funding gifted via the £1m in 100 days campaign not only boosts small business growth, thereby strengthening the UK economy, but also improves the life chances of the people working within that organisation.”
Levy paying employers are those with a wage bill of over £3m and see 0.5 per cent of their payroll go to HMRC towards the levy. In April 2019, the Government made it possible for levy paying employers to ‘gift’ up to 25 per cent of their apprenticeship levy to other organisations to fund apprenticeships.
Gina said: “The theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week is ‘Look Beyond’ and that is exactly what we are asking larger employers to do. By pledging unspent levy, they are looking beyond their own businesses to help smaller organisations upskill their employees.
“We are also calling on smaller businesses to get in touch with our Total People teams to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.”
