Apprenticeship

Qualification
  • Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Parts
  • Level 2 VCQ in Vehicle Parts
  • Key Skill Application of Number Level 1 or 2
  • Key Skill Communication Level 1 or 2
  • Key Skill ICT Level 1 or 2
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
Units covered Depending on your job role you could cover a range of the following topics through your VCQ and Diploma:

  • Selecting and Issuing Vehicle Parts
  • Receiving and Storing Vehicle Parts
  • Process Orders for Non Stock Parts
  • Delivering Vehicle Parts to Customers
  • Processing Payment Transactions in a Vehicle Parts Environment
  • Health & Safety

 

Entry requirements You must be employed at least 30 hours/week.
Who is it for? The VCQ in Vehicle Parts is for anyone who works in a Vehicle Parts Environment such as Cars, Motorcycles, Trailers, Caravans, Motor Homes, Plant, Heavy Goods Vehicles, Agriculture and Horticultural Vehicles, who is a

Aged 25 and over

Duration 12 to 24 months subject to qualification taken
Start date Available all year
Assessment method You will put together a portfolio of evidence that will be assessed using a range of methods. Observation of real work will be used for all competence based units, in addition you will be involved in discussion and carry out knowledge based questions.
Personal qualities To work in a Vehicle Parts environment you will need to have the following personal qualities:

  • Good Practical Skills
  • Knowledge of processes
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Able to follow instructions
Further progression Once you have completed your Apprenticeship you can look at moving on to level 3 VCQ and Diploma in a Vehicle Parts.

Advanced Apprenticeship

  • Experienced Parts Person
  • Senior Parts Person
  • Assistant Parts Manager
