Total People is proud to celebrate Cheryl Spratley, a Senior People Professional Level 7 apprentice at Phoenix Medical Supplies Ltd, who has received a Special Recognition Award for her outstanding contribution to people strategy and organisational improvement.

The award recognises Cheryl’s impact beyond her day to day role, highlighting the meaningful difference her work has made in shaping positive employee experiences across the business.

Driving real improvements that matter

Throughout her apprenticeship, Cheryl has played a key role in developing and delivering people focused initiatives that support employee wellbeing and financial security.

In November, these efforts were recognised at Reward Gateway’s annual Appreciation Awards, where Phoenix Medical Supplies was shortlisted for two categories:
•    Best Financial Support Strategy for Employees
•    Best Strategy for Supporting Employee Health and Wellbeing.

Both strategies were led by Cheryl and successfully embedded across the organisation, with Phoenix going on to win bronze awards in both categories. Cheryl’s ability to translate evidence based theory into practical, impactful solutions has been instrumental in their success.

In her role Cheryl consistently analyses data, engages stakeholders, and challenges existing processes in a constructive way, ensuring initiatives genuinely meet employee needs.

Recognition she’s proud of

Reflecting on the award, Cheryl said:

I’m really proud to have received a Special Recognition Award from Total People. It means a lot to have my work recognised, especially for something that has helped drive real improvements that make a difference to our employees.

This recognition reflects not only Cheryl’s technical capability, but also her commitment, curiosity and strong values as a people professional.

A future HR leader in the making

Cheryl’s nomination highlighted her maturity, professionalism, and impressive ability to balance Level 7 study with high impact, real world delivery. Her work ethic and dedication to continuous improvement have significantly strengthened the HR function at Phoenix.

Her achievements are a testament not just to strong apprenticeship support, but to Cheryl’s own drive to make a positive and lasting impact.
