We continue our celebration of National Conveyancing Week, by talking to Rachael of PCS Legal. Rachael is currently working her way through a Level 4 Conveyancing apprenticeship with us.
I chose to do an apprenticeship in conveyancing because I want to be a licensed conveyancer. So I had to start with the Level 4 apprenticeship course before I can move on to the Level 6.
My career goal is to be a licensed conveyancer and my dream is to have my own firm one day.
No, if anything they've definitely cemented. I want it even more now than I did before. I can't wait to be qualified!
Combining work with study can be tricky. I have to utilize my time well. I manage my own caseload and I'm also a full-time parent, so it has been tricky, but it's also helped me develop time-keeping skills. I've managed my caseload and my studying really well together.
I now have the knowledge behind the conveyancing, especially in land law. When it comes to covenants and easements, I actually find myself referencing law statute, which is really surprising because you don't ever think it will stick, but it does. It's been great actually, knowing the answer without having to ask somebody else.
I think the course has helped me not just develop my knowledge in conveyancing, but it has actually given me confidence in myself, especially in managing my own caseload and having the knowledge and the confidence to give my clients the correct answers.
Yeah, the tutors are helpful. They always respond to emails. I don't think I've waited for more than a day for a reply. On your Total People Portal you can also contact your tutors in regards to your assessments just for a little bit of guidance and they help point you in the right direction.
Yeah, I absolutely would recommend them. Yes.
