First of many apprentices signed up on the Large Goods Vehicle Driver programme.
We are thrilled to announce that one of our valued partners, Elis, has successfully recruited its first apprentice through Total People.
Adam Evison, based at Elis’ Shrewsbury site, is the first of hopefully many apprentices signed up on the Large Goods Vehicle Driver programme. Adam is excited for the future; “I see it as a great opportunity to further my skills whilst helping out the business requirements at the same time”.
Stewart Parnham, General Manager, added;
Adam has helped out in the transport department on several occasions in the past, and by giving him this opportunity to become HGV qualified, we can call on Adam whenever necessary to negate the need for agency cover and ensure we meet our customer delivery deadlines.
Elis deliver a complete textile rental and laundry service to all types of activities, offering everything from clothing to chefware, cloths, entrance mats, mops, bed and bath linen and hygiene equipment to public toilets. Across its four business lines – Hospitality, Healthcare, Workwear and Facility – Elis work with thousands of organisations all over Europe that make our lives possible.
Elis’ vision states: ‘In a world that is increasingly complex and fragmented, multi-service providers have a major role to play in delivering solutions that anticipate and solve customer needs, thereby fostering their professional success. We truly believe that the cornerstone to achieving this is being constantly attentive, dedicated and agile enough to take any necessary action’.
It is a vision which aligns perfectly with Total People’s mission – to improve lives and economic success through learning and skills.
Total People Key Account Manager Helen Meakin explains more: “We are delighted to welcome Adam Evison to his Large Goods Vehicle Driver Apprenticeship programme with Total People. Elis and Total People have been working together to develop an appropriate apprenticeship scheme, offering 6 different apprenticeships in the first phase: Operations/Departmental Manager, Team Leader/Supervisor, Logistics Team Leader Supervisor, Customer Service Practitioner, Large Goods Vehicle Driver and Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician. We have received significant interest and subsequent applications and expect that Adam will be the first of many apprenticeship successes at Elis”.
