Celebrating Offley Primary Academy: Apprentice Employer of the Month

Offley Primary Academy has been recognised as Total People’s Apprentice Employer of the Month for March 2026. 

From the very start of their apprenticeship journey, the team at Offley Primary has shown what great support looks like in practice. Even though they’re relatively new to apprenticeships, they’ve fully embraced the process and created an environment where apprentices feel genuinely supported, valued and part of the team. 

What stands out straight away is the culture. There’s a real sense that people matter here. Apprentices aren’t just there to help out, they’re included in everything. From staff meetings and policy discussions to full INSET days, they’re given the chance to learn, contribute and grow alongside the wider team. 

That level of inclusion makes a big difference. It builds confidence, helps apprentices develop quicker, and makes them feel like they belong from day one. 

The school also puts a lot of thought into the learning experiences they provide. Apprentices aren’t limited to one type of task or group of learners. Instead, they’re trusted to support across the classroom, helping all pupils while building a wide range of skills. 

This approach was clear during a recent observation, where a Teaching Assistant apprentice confidently worked with different groups of children. It showed just how much preparation, trust and support sits behind the scenes. 

Looking ahead, Offley Primary is already thinking about what’s next. They’re exploring additional apprenticeship opportunities to further develop their team and strengthen the support they provide to pupils. 

It’s this forward-thinking attitude, combined with a genuinely supportive culture, that makes them such a deserving Employer of the Month.
