The UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery firm has once again pledged unused apprenticeship levy funds to provide support for SMEs.

Evri has generously gifted £100k to support our campaign to raise £1 million in 200 days campaign, which will now be used by SMEs to take on new apprentices or upskill existing ones.

Evri has also pledged £50k to the West Midlands Combined Authority, and the total funds have the potential to support 33 adult care workers or 22 Team Leaders.

In addition, businesses can see any pledges on a public website and apply for funding to pay for 100% of their apprenticeship training and assessment costs (up to the funding band maximum).

It’s the second year running that Evri has pledged some of its apprenticeship levy funds. In 2021, the company pledged £200k, which supported 23 learners such as dental nurses, adult care workers and assistant accountants.

Total People Account Manager, Beckie Holmes, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Evri have made the decision to gift their levy funds to support SMEs once again. Evri’s first pledge was a huge success, giving the opportunity for smaller businesses to grow or develop their workforce through apprenticeship training and we are looking forward to seeing the huge difference their second pledge will make to people’s lives and businesses. It’s fantastic to see larger organisations like Evri utilising those otherwise unspent funds in such a positive way.”

Martijn de Lange, CEO at Evri UK, added: “At Evri, we are fortunate to already have strong apprenticeship and training schemes in place, so we have taken the decision to gift some of our levy to SMEs that will benefit from it. The last few years have presented many challenges for all businesses, but particularly SMEs, so we’re proud to be able to support them in training their future workforces and providing their employees with increased lifelong earning potential.”
