Kemo Singhateh explains his apprenticeship journey with Total People.

Where did you hear about your apprenticeship and how did you apply?

I applied for the Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with Total People through a jobs website. At the time I didn’t really know much about Total People but the application process was really straight forward and it took me just a minute to complete.

How have you found your apprenticeship so far?

I love my apprenticeship! I’m working with amazing colleagues who give me all the help and support I need.

I’ve learned many different skills on my apprenticeship such time management and teamwork, how to use marketing tools such as Google Analytics and Hootsuite. I’ve also learned more about email marketing and also about coding.

The apprenticeship has also helped me to improve my listening skills and my confidence, and I have started being more open and asking questions whenever I need help.

How has it been doing an apprenticeship during lockdown?

Working at home during the pandemic has been difficult. Not being in work environment can cause a lot of distractions, but I have started to settle a bit better and can now work more efficiently.

This year hasn’t been easy but my advice to anyone interested in pursuing a career is to do an apprenticeship.

You can earn experience and earn money at the same time. You can also secure a permanent job role at the workplace once you’ve completed your apprenticeship.

What are your career aims for the future?

I want to grow and become an experienced marketer. In the future I want to build my own marketing company and provide the best marketing service to businesses worldwide.

How have you found learning with Total People?

Learning with Total People has been an amazing experience. I have been getting all the necessary support and help from my Learning Coaches, who I meet with regularly to stay on track with my coursework and complete extra tasks.
