Next step to success thanks to First Bus gift

On #ThankYouThursday, apprentices are gifted a bus by leading employer First Bus.

Total People is marking #ThankYouThursday by thanking key employer First Bus for donating a bus to boost learning and training. 

The leading transport provider has donated a ‘Dennis Dart ADL’ model vehicle so that bus and coach apprentices at Total People can gain experience and develop engineering skills to become future industry leaders. 

The vehicle will be used by learners on the Bus and Coach Engineering Technician qualification who will be trained in all aspects of passenger carrying vehicle technology including mechanical and electrical systems.  

Nigel Eggleton, Managing Director at First South Yorkshire and the Midlands, said: “I am pleased that the bus we are donating will become a valuable tool in allowing new apprentices to gain the relevant experience and skills needed to work in the transport Industry.   

“Buses provide a valuable service for many people in the communities we serve and it is encouraging to see upcoming apprentices wanting to move into the sector”.

Within the Bus and Coach industry there is a real shortage of experienced and highly skilled staff. Apprenticeships are a valuable way to develop and produce the quality work force required for the future.
