Personal Development Award Winner: Bernadette Braz 

Bernadette Braz, from Cavendish Nuclear Ltd's Human Resources team, has been recognised with Total People's Personal Development Award for her commitment to championing carers' inclusion and making a positive difference for colleagues across the organisation.  

As a result of her dedication to continuous learning, Bernadette attended a Carers UK webinar focused on employee engagement and Carers Week. The session provided valuable insight into the challenges faced by carers and highlighted practical, evidence-based ways organisations can create a more supportive and inclusive workplace. 

Following the webinar, Bernadette shared her learning with the Carers Network Committee, helping to shape the planning and delivery of Carers Week initiatives across the business. By bringing external best practice into the organisation, she has helped raise awareness of carers' experiences while strengthening support available to colleagues with caring responsibilities. 

Bernadette's passion for inclusion and wellbeing has had a positive impact across the workforce. Her proactive approach to personal development demonstrates how learning can be used to drive meaningful change, support others and contribute to a more inclusive workplace culture. 

By championing carers' inclusion, sharing knowledge and encouraging greater understanding across the organisation, Bernadette has become a strong advocate for colleagues who balance work alongside caring responsibilities.
