SPIE UK Offers £50k to build a better future

Another employer has made a generous donation to our £1 Million in 200 days campaign.

As our campaign to raise £1 Million in levy gifted funds in 200 days continues, engineering solutions company SPIE UK is the latest employer to contribute.

SPIE UK has generously gifted £50k in unused apprenticeship levy funds to Total People.  These funds can now be used by SMEs to support apprenticeships in the field of Engineering.

This is SPIE UK’s second time of pledging, so CSR Manager Clémence O’Connor already understands from experience how vital the campaign is.

 “Our first pledge allowed us to support 6 future engineers within 5 SMEs.  Our pledge helped them take on someone new or upskill an existing employee so we know it works and makes a real difference.”

“This donation is really welcome and puts us over halfway to our goal,” said Beckie Holmes, Total People’s Levy Gifting Manager.  “It is really going to help us make a difference to the future of young people’s lives.”

SPIE UK chose the Engineering sector to support the development of the next generation of engineers and to attract new talent.  Clémence noted, “We want to help the built environment contribute towards the energy transition in the fight against climate change; we’re hoping these apprentices literally build our better future.”

As Clémence continues, “We would absolutely recommend Levy gifting to other employers simply because it is the right thing to do.  Moreover, if the levy funds are not used in full within 24 months, they expire so it makes complete sense for companies like ourselves to donate this surplus instead of it going unused.”
