Total People Apprentices celebrated at the Student Excellence Awards 2018
Total People apprentices were celebrated at the 2018 Student Excellence Awards held last night (Thursday 21 June), at the grand Hilton Manchester Deansgate hotel in Manchester city centre.
The awards, which were held jointly between Total People, The Manchester College and higher education organisation UCEN Manchester, recognised the achievements and dedication of outstanding apprentices and students.
Harry Waring, a Level 2 apprentice in Woodworking machinery, took home the Total People Intermediate Apprentice of the Year award. He was described as a very special, committed, skilled and ‘massively valuable’ member of the team.
Harry said: “I feel very humbled and proud to win this award. I would like to thank RJ Parry Joinery for all the support, as well as Richard Bryant from Total People.”
The winner of the Total People Advanced Apprentice of the Year, Fatima Assadi, is undertaking an advanced apprenticeship as an Early Years Educator and was hailed as ‘inspirational, with an exuberant amount of enthusiasm for learning and developing skills’.
Fatima said: “I can’t believe I am here tonight. Thanks to Louise and Faye for believing in me and pushing me to achieve my goal. I couldn’t have made it this far without them. Every student deserves teachers like you!”
Charlotte Guianne, Ethan Taylor, Michael Ferguson and Chris Hewitt were also recognised at the awards as finalists in Harry and Fatima’s categories, along with Katie Jones who was a finalist in her category for English and Maths student of the year.
