Total People and E.ON Strengthen Partnership to Support Apprenticeships and Future Skills
Total People and E.ON are continuing their partnership to support apprenticeships, help SMEs access funding and develop the future workforce across key sectors.
Total People and E.ON have strengthened their long-standing partnership to help more businesses access apprenticeship funding, unlock new career opportunities and address critical skills shortages across key sectors.
Through apprenticeship levy gifting, E.ON, working with Total People, has already supported 12 small businesses to hire an apprentice with £231,500 of levy gifting to date. The latest extension to the partnership will provide £100,000 of levy gifting for the next year to support even more employers who may not otherwise be able to access the full benefits of apprenticeship funding to invest in skills, grow their workforce and develop the talent needed for future success.
The partnership, which is now in its sixth year, is already creating opportunities in high-demand industries including engineering, scaffolding, refrigeration and air conditioning, helping employers build sustainable talent pipelines while supporting individuals to gain valuable skills, qualifications and experience.
At a time when many organisations continue to face recruitment challenges and widening skills gaps, the collaboration demonstrates how partnerships between training providers and major employers can deliver meaningful benefits for businesses, learners and local economies.
Melanie Nicholson, Managing Director at Total People, commented: "We’re delighted to continue our partnership with EON which is a real indicator of the confidence they have in us to continue to deliver on their vision to help as many small businesses as possible to hire an apprentice and grow their future workforces.
“Strong partnerships like this have the power to create lasting impact and our collaboration with E.ON is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when organisations come together to invest in people and skills.
"By helping employers access apprenticeship funding, we're opening doors for businesses to grow and develop their workforce while creating opportunities for individuals to build rewarding careers. Together, we're helping to address skills shortages while supporting the talent that will drive future economic growth."
For many employers, apprenticeships provide a cost-effective way to recruit new talent, develop existing employees and strengthen their workforce. Through this partnership, businesses can access support to make the most of apprenticeship opportunities while investing in the skills needed to drive long-term success.
Darren Cook, Apprentice Programme Co-ordinator said: "At E.ON, we believe apprenticeships are one of the most effective ways to develop skills, create opportunity and support long-term business success. This is fundamental to our commitment to social value and supporting small to medium businesses to address skills shortages in early careers, upskilling staff and supporting progression into STEM and technical roles."
"Through our partnership with Total People, we're proud to help more employers access apprenticeship funding and invest in the people who will shape the future of their industries. By working together, we can help more businesses thrive while supporting individuals to gain the skills and experience they need for successful careers."
By working together, Total People and E.ON are helping employers overcome skills challenges, grow their talent pipelines and create high-quality career opportunities for people looking to enter or progress within the workforce.
Through apprenticeship training, employers can develop the specific skills their organisations need while learners gain valuable industry experience, technical knowledge and recognised qualifications. The partnership also supports the development of future-focused capabilities, including technical and green skills that are becoming increasingly important across many sectors.
