About the apprenticeship
As a Dental Nurse Apprentice you will be assisting with all clinical aspects within the surgery and providing patients with a high level of care.
- You will need to be able to work under pressure and relax patients by putting their minds at ease
- Cleaning of the clinical areas is essential , e.g equipment, and instruments
- Tidying and sterlilise all equipment to the standards of the practices health and safety and infections control procedures and manufactures instructions
- Ensure that equipment is maintained regularly and in good working order
- Provide chair side assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available
- Always ensure the care and welfare of patients in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner
- Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed and observe patient confidentiality at all times
- Handle all substances in accordance with Health and Safety policies
- Ensure that stock levels are adequate and other items within the surgery
- Ensure all records from patients are up to date , maintained and safely securely stored
- Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records
- Attend and participate in practice meetings
- Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the practice (perhaps including the duties and tasks of receptionist as required)
- Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities
- Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct
- Follow practice dress code
- Tidy waiting area when needed
- Cover reception area when needed
