Refrigeration / HVAC Apprenticeship

We are currently recruiting for an apprentice to join the Cheshire Team based at our Alderley Park Site. Reporting to the Sodexo Apprentice Manager you will be a proactive customer focused individual, enthusiastic and have the ability to communicate and build relationships with team members / peers.

The apprentice scheme will run’s for a period of 4 years. During this time, you will cover a broad base of training including Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumental skills. Academic study will be combined with onsite placements across the account to gain exposure to different areas of our Sodexo business. The final year of the apprenticeship will consolidate all the acquired learning in preparation for successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

Daily duties will involve:

• Assisting with onsite maintenance
• Assisting with planned maintenance of equipment
• Reactive repairs to equipment
• Assisting with obtaining safe systems of work permits
• Compiling risk assessments

The programme is supported by our specialist training partners Total People Ltd. They will provide support throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme. The apprenticeship scheme with Sodexo is a fixed term contract for a period of 4 years however, our ambition is to provide employment on completion in line with business requirements aligned to account succession / development plans.

The College placement is likely to be in Manchester (Wythenshawe), if successful you would be expected to make your own travel arrangement to attend college.

The successful candidate ideally should understand the services involved, be well presented, have good communication skills, have a hands-on approach, flexibility and the ability to use own initiative when necessary, be able to build a good relationship with internal and external clients on site.

This role consists of 37.5 hours per week over 5 days Monday – Friday, some flexibility in working hours and overtime may be required at times to meet business needs.

You will be required to attend an aptitude test / interview for this position as part of your application.
