About the apprenticeship
D W Construction, Norley, WA6 8LA is searching for a brick laying apprentice to carry a wide range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to enter the construction industry or continue their construction training and gain nationally recognised qualifications. Core tasks include;
- Measuring the work area and setting out the first rows of bricks (courses) and the damp course
- Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer
- Laying the bricks on top of each other and applying the mortar with a trowel
- Shaping and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels and power tools
- Checking that courses are straight using water or laser spirit levels and plumb lines
- Carrying out other related building activities as reasonably requested
- Taking care to meet with good health & safety practice at all times
Elements of industry training or industry experience would be beneficial.
