We are upskilling one of our existing members of the team who will be completing the Business Admin Apprenticeship Level 3 Standard. The modules in this Apprenticeship are ideal for this person’s role and will build on their existing knowledge and skill set as they develop in our business. Covering business admin, customer service, and sales, this varied role requires a wide skill set and high level of confidence that we feel is gained by completing the course.
What made you want to recruit an apprentice/retrain your existing colleagues?
We currently have a warehouse apprentice who is set to complete his apprenticeship in August 2019. We have been so impressed with the course content, support, and overall added value to our business that we wanted to offer an internal opportunity to upskill. We feel that by offering this training support and career development, we will retain our team and improve our overall performance as a business with a highly skilled team.
Talk us through the process – how easy was it to recruit your new apprentice through Total People?
The entire process has been first class from the initial enquiry, through to the continued support and on-site assessments. Any questions or queries have been answered quickly and efficiently.
Why did you choose Total People?
Chariot has supplied a number of products to the Manchester College over the last 5 years. This has assisted with the growth of our business and created additional employment opportunities. Total People were recommended by The Manchester College when we asked about apprenticeships and being a part of the same group was a great way for us to give back to our local community. Another reason we chose Total People was the vast choice of courses available as we plan to upskill a number of our other staff and also start another young apprentice in the near future.
What do you expect to be the benefits of recruiting or retraining through an apprenticeship?
It’s very difficult to find the time to train staff within a busy, growing business. By retraining and recruiting through apprenticeships, it allows our existing team to focus on the daily challenges faced by the business whilst the apprentice receives structured onsite training and support.
Would you recommend Total People to other employers? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend Total People to other employers due to the quality of people involved in the process. Everyone we have dealt with has had a genuine passion to help us make the right choice from the course
Anything more to add?
Total people have added real value to our business through our apprentice scheme. We look forward to furthering opportunities as we grow our business - Mike Carter, MD
