Total People update - 27 March 2020
Total People is open and has moved to remote learning due to the Coronavirus. We are enabling this by resequencing our apprentices learning to bring forward wider aspects of learning, such as English and maths, while also pushing back practical work that is difficult to complete if businesses are closed.
Learners can continue to access learning through our Virtual Learning Environment and Onefile, and we are also conducting coaching and progress discussions by phone and via Skype. These were all possible before but are now our normal way of working.
We have also provided all of our learning coaches with webinar training and the tools to deliver virtual classroom teaching. Our teams are excited to use this new approach and have expert support on hand to ensure the experience for our learners continues to be positive.
If you have any questions, or need advice about managing your studies during this period, please contact your learning coach /training advisor or call our team on 0333 242 8128.
Total People team
Total People locations will be closed to students from the end of today Thursday 19 March until further notice.
The Government on 18 March 2019 instructed all educational establishments, which includes Independent Training Providers such as Total People, to close to reduce and limit the spread of Covid-19.
The Government also instructed that learners of key workers, such as NHS staff and delivery drivers, and vulnerable students continue to be supported. We will provide an update as soon as possible.
We are doing all we can to ensure that our learners can access education and support remotely during this period of our location closure. We have been working on a contingency plan to deliver as much course content as we can in virtual environments, primarily Onefile.
Tutors and Learning Coaches will be in touch with learners individually to advise them of these arrangements and provide them with support.
During the closure it is essential that all learners regularly check communications via Onefile about their training and learning.
Exams and end point assessments
Total People understands that learners may have concerns about the impact of the closure on any upcoming assessment and examination period.
We are working with awarding bodies to understand the contingency plans to ensure they are not disadvantaged. These plans will be communicated to learners, where necessary, as soon as possible.
