M-Futures partnership highly commended in national awards.

The M-Futures construction partnership has been highly commended in this year’s Festival of Learning Awards.

The innovative partnership between Total People, Manchester City Council and leading construction, architecture and property companies including Bruntwood, Sisk, MACE and Purcell reached the finals of the national competition.

Classed as the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England, Festival of Learning judges recognised the M-Futures programme during the awards celebration evening of lifelong learning.

M-Futures gives construction-focused, higher level apprentices the chance to gain industry-relevant experience in a number of areas including Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture and Engineering. It has also enabled learners to work on large scale builds including the Our Town Hall project, a six year restoration of the Grade I listed Manchester Town Hall.

Melanie Nicholson, Managing Director of Total People, said: “We are thrilled that our partnership programme M-Futures is a finalist in this year’s Festival of Learning Awards.

To have been recognised as a programme making a real impact on people’s lives is amazing and I want to thank all our learners, employers, partners and Total People colleagues who have worked together on this unique programme.
