Tutor John explains the benefits of apprenticeships

The management apprentice explains how his apprenticeship adds value to his role.

College tutor John Emsley is spreading the word that apprenticeships are for everyone after starting a Management apprenticeship with Total People.  

The Employability and Engagement tutor at The Manchester College applied for the apprenticeship, which was advertised through LTE Group, due to his aspiration to step into a management role.

Now he is managing a project with Manchester Cathedral, learning the theory of management and how to engage with stakeholders.

He said: “The opportunity to take part in apprenticeship and to sell apprenticeships to people of all ages is one that I welcome.

Applying for the apprenticeship was a very easy process. And the apprenticeships has given me the opportunity to add credibility and value to the job I was already doing.
