During this training, we will work with you to deliver the right skills, knowledge and behaviours for the following job roles:

  • Costing engineers
  • Installation engineers
  • Manufacturing procurement engineers
  • Manufacturing production engineers
  • Process engineers
  • Production support engineers
  • Quality engineers
  • Test and commissioning engineers.

What your apprentice will learn

The programme covers a wide range of essential engineering and manufacturing topics, including:

  • Manufacturing methods and production systems
  • Engineering drawings, documentation and reporting
  • Quality systems and compliance
  • Root cause analysis and process improvement
  • Costing and manufacturing planning
  • Project management and engineering change control
  • Data analysis and KPI reporting
  • Health, safety, environmental and sustainability practices
  • Lean tools and continuous improvement
  • New product introduction
  • CAD, databases and engineering software tools.

This is an apprenticeship offer, led by Total People — part of the LTE Group

Apprentices attend UCEN at our Openshaw campus one day a week to be taught the HNC qualification that is a mandatory qualification within the standard.

Off-the-job learning includes:

  • Classroom and blended theory sessions
  • Practical skills development
  • Work shadowing
  • Supported study time for assignments.

All training is directly linked to the apprenticeship standard and designed to build new skills.
