Conveyancing Overview
Are you looking to work in the property sector? You could be helping others to buy their dream home with one of our property apprenticeships.
Licensed Conveyancers are specialist property lawyers who deal with all legal matters relating to the transfer of ownership of land or property from a seller to a buyer.
We offer two types of qualification:
- Conveyancing Technician Level 4
- Licensed Conveyancer Level 6
What does a Property apprenticeship cover?
Our property apprenticeships will make sure you gain the right knowledge to work in a professional role.
You’ll learn how to give the correct legal advice and how to carry out the work needed for any activity that creates, changes, transfers or discharges a legal or equitable interest in a property.
You’ll need good time management, communication and relationship building skills. You’ll also need to be aware of external environmental factors impacting the property market and understand relevant regulations needed by the sector.
During your apprenticeship you’ll cover areas such as:
Level 4
- The English Legal System
- Law of Contract
- Land Law
- Standard Conveyancing Transactions
- Understanding Accounting Procedures for Conveyancing Transactions
Level 6
- Landlord and Tenant
- Conveyancing Law and Practice
- Managing Client and Office Accounts (Conveyancing)
How do you get into the industry?
Our Level 4 qualification is an entry level role into the industry and ideal for candidates of any age, including those with no experience.
You’ll need to have completed the Level 4 apprenticeship or equivalent (eg Level 4 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice) to apply for the Level 6 apprenticeship.

Further progression
After completing your Level 4 apprenticeship, you will be able to progress onto the Level 6 qualification which, once completed, will mean you can independently conduct, manage and deliver all conveyancing processes.

Entry Requirements
You don’t need qualifications but some employers will want you to have a good standard of education, such as GCSEs, including English, maths and ICT.

Level 6 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice
Entry Requirements
Apprentices must have completed the Level 4 Conveyancing Technician Units or have recognised exemptions, as required by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.
Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment

18 months – 5 years
