Licenced Conveyancing Apprenticeship

If you’re looking to build a career in conveyancing, this apprenticeship is designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge you need to succeed. As a Licensed Conveyancer, you’ll take on significant responsibility, managing complex property transactions and ensuring compliance with regulations and lender requirements.

Throughout this programme, you’ll receive expert training to help you navigate residential, commercial, and agricultural conveyancing processes. By the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll have the skills and confidence to independently manage legal processes, uphold regulatory standards, and deliver excellent client outcomes.

Topics, units and assessments

As part of the apprenticeship, you will learn about:

  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Conveyancing Law and Practice
  • Managing Client and Office Accounts (Conveyancing).

A mock End-point Assessment will be conducted with the apprentices at least 2 months prior the End-point Assessment, this will include:

  • Synoptic training/ showcase support with learning coach/ mock professional discussion
  • Apprentices will be provided with SQA’s Guidance Material on the Scenario Test and the Showcase/ Professional Discussion to enable them to adequately prepare.

How you'll learn

Off the job training must deliver new skills and knowledge that are directly relevant to the apprenticeship standard and can include:

  • Teaching of theory via blended delivery methods
  • Practical training
  • Work shadowing
  • Supported learning and time spent writing any assignments/questions
  • Case Handler

    A Case Handler manages administrative and legal processes within property transactions, ensuring smooth progression from instruction to completion.

  • Property Manager

    A Property Manager oversees the operations of residential or commercial properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and compliant. 

  • Property Lawyer

    A Property Lawyer provides legal expertise on property transactions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while protecting client interests.

  • Conveyancer

    A Conveyancer specialises in the legal transfer of property ownership, ensuring transactions are completed efficiently and lawfully between two parties. 

  • Develop Skilled Professionals

    Apprentices gain hands-on experience in key areas such as property law, client communication, and transaction management. They develop essential skills in handling contracts, conducting property searches, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Improve Case Handling Efficiency

    A well-trained apprentice can help streamline conveyancing processes by supporting administrative tasks, drafting legal documents, and managing client queries. This allows senior conveyancers to focus on complex cases, improving overall efficiency and service.
