Meet John
With a career in scaffolding spanning over three decades, I began working in the industry in 1992 as a labourer, gaining hands-on experience on site and developing a strong understanding of safe working practices and scaffold construction.
Through dedication, continuous skill development, and a strong work ethic, I progressed to become an advanced scaffolder, building a reputation for quality workmanship, reliability, and leadership on complex projects.
In 2006, I moved into the training and education sector, joining The Manchester College as a scaffold tutor, where I have remained ever since, shaping the next generation of scaffolders. Throughout my time in education, I have played a key role in the successful day-to-day running of the scaffold department, supporting learners, mentoring apprentices, and maintaining high standards of training and safety.
My commitment to learner development and industry excellence has contributed significantly to strong outcomes and departmental success.
