English and Maths 

Overview

If you are yet to pass a qualification in English and/or maths before starting your programme with us, you will be required to study one or both alongside your vocational qualification. 

We know that English and maths can be challenging, so we have a specialist team here to support you in overcoming that challenge. The English and maths qualifications that you will acquire upon completion with us will either be GCSE or Functional Skills. 

The benefits of studying and achieving English and maths are:

• Further study opportunities, such as apprenticeships at Level 2 and above, the next level of vocational study and eventually university
• Employment opportunities; most employers require applicants to have a good foundation of English and maths skills. A lack of English and maths qualifications can often be a barrier to employment.

Course format

This is a classroom-based course with lessons delivered face to face each week.  A dedicated Learning Coach provides you with support throughout the course. 

Entry Requirement

You should have achieved Grade 1-4, GCSE maths and English or Level 1-2 in Functional maths and English

• NCFE Level 3 Skills for Business
• Supported Internship.
