This National Apprenticeship Week (7-13 February), we’re launching our £500k in 100 days campaign – and we need you to join us!

Our aim is to encourage large employers who have unused apprenticeship levy funds to gift £500,000 in total over the next 100 days, funds that would otherwise be returned to the Treasury.

We’re also encouraging SMEs across the region to access these funds to help create 100 opportunities for new apprenticeships, training which can help local businesses to bridge skills gaps and increase their productivity.

Gift Your Levy

SME Funding

Levy paying employers are those who have a wage bill of over £3m and see 0.5 per cent of their payroll go towards the levy. Up to 25 per cent of their apprenticeship levy can be ‘gifted’ to fund apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships can be used by small and medium enterprises to increase their workforce by taking on new employees or upskilling current employees to help boost career progression and productivity.

Melanie Nicholson, Total People Managing Director, said: “Our new campaign will make a real and lasting impact not only to people’s lives but to the economy as a whole. Apprenticeships allow businesses to train their new or existing workforce to gain the industry skills that are in demand so that they can continue to thrive.

“We’re asking large and small employers to strengthen their future through apprenticeships.

Using our apprenticeships expertise, each pound of gifted funding is helping to create real opportunities for individuals and businesses, while at the same time bridging skills gaps in key sectors and towns and cities.

“Whether you want to gift unused levy funds, recruit a new member of staff, upskill an existing colleague or access the latest apprenticeship learning and support, we can guide you through the whole process.”
