Our £500k in 100 day campaign is encouraging small and medium enterprises to access levy gifted funds for training funds at no cost themselves.
Katie Sheridan, Office Manager for Stockport-based care organisation Abacus Homecare, accessed levy gifted funds from Skipton Building Society to start her Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship.
She said: "We’re a small family business but are always upskilling our office staff and care workers. I currently deal with our business HR but haven’t got a formal qualification in the subject.
I’d already seen the course I was interested but wasn’t aware of levy gifting, so it was great to find out that we’d be able to access 100% of the funding.
The process of accessing the funding was really smooth and took just a few minutes to create an account. We’ve accessed two courses through levy gifting, with weekly online webinars and online learning. It’s helped to take my HR skills to the next level.
We currently outsource our HR so hopefully this training will enable us to bring that back in house, saving us funds. As we are inspected by the Care Quality Commission, it’s also really good to show that we are upskilling our staff.
Levy funding has definitely been beneficial for our company and working with Total People has been really good and straightforward."
