An Accounting Apprenticeship is the perfect starting point to a career in finance, without the expensive university fees. Having a good business brain as well as a way with numbers, is a good start if you want to work in Accounting.
Job Roles in Accountancy vary depending on whether you are keeping track of one company’s accounts or a global corporation’s finances. This diverse range of activities makes accountancy an attractive profession to pursue.
Whatever type of company you work for they will always need the services of an accountant; from large public sector companies and major corporations, to football clubs and small media firms.
Accounting qualifications are offered by the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), who are the UK’s leading professional body offering skills-based accountancy and finance qualifications.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this qualification, you need to be employed in an Accounts position for at least 30 hours per week.
Cost
This will be dependent on the size of the employer and if the employer is an apprenticeship levy payer. This can be discussed with Total People Ltd.
Assistant Accountant Standard (Advanced Apprenticeship - Level 3)
Entry Requirements:
Level 2 AAT Qualification or equivalent
What qualifications will I gain?
- AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping Qualification (if not already achieved)
- AAT Level 3 Diploma
- Functional Skills Maths Level 2
- Functional Skils English Level 2
Length of the course:
15/18 months approximately
Professional Accountant Standard (Higher Apprenticeship - Level 4)
Entry Requirements:
Level 3 AAT Qualification
What qualifications will I gain?
- AAT Level 4 Diploma
- Functional Skills Maths Level 2
- Functional Skils English Level 2
