Apprentice Business Administrator

Purpose of the Job:

To ensure orders are placed with authorised suppliers in time to meet machine build and spares requirements and to liaise with appropriate personnel regarding anticipated delivery dates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expedite purchase orders for direct and in-direct materials in a timely manner, where necessary inform the Supply Chain Manager regarding any delays / problems to ensure agreed delivery dates are met
• Check SQCDP boards on a daily basis and report any issues to the Supply Chain Manager
• Undertake regular general maintenance of SYSPRO stock cards, stock references and prices information
• Creation of new stock codes in SYSPRO
• Ensure that all filing of internal and external documents is complete in a timely fashion
• Carry out where necessary all other administrative duties when required
• Deal professionally, competently and courteously with suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications
• Provide reception cover when required
• Throughout the length of the course to train in all purchasing functions to provide cover for the Assistant Buyer as and when required
