About the apprenticeship
- Understand the fundamentals of existing/emerging mechanical/electrical systems
- Carry out routine safety inspections/mechanical and electrical servicing/planned preventative maintenance/vehicle health checks Inspect, diagnose and repair all mechanical systems/engine, fuel/coolant and transmission systems
- Build knowledge/experience to apply initiative to rectify intermittent faults/electrical systems/associated components, on board auxiliary systems/battery charging and electronic drive systems
Apprenticeship qualification and training
Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, Level 3 Standard
This will be delivered through a mix of face-to-face learning, remote reviews, online assessments, self-study, practical skills training and one to one coaching facilitated at our training facility at the Manchester College, Wythenshawe (off-the-job).
Career progression
Upon completion and passing your Apprenticeship, you will have to opportunity to move in to a permanent role as a Bus and Coach Engineering Technician, further develop your skills and progress.
