Early Years Apprentice

Overview

Little Bumbles based in Tarporley are looking to recruit an Early Years Apprentice to support their existing team. The Early Years is a vital part of a child's education when they develop cognitive, social and emotional skills that set them up for life. Early Years professionals are crucial in helping children develop before starting school.

About the apprenticeship

You will plan and run educational activities with children under five years old, and make sure they are safe and happy. As an apprentice, your role will include, but not be limited to, the following, dependent on the needs of the Pre-School:

• Daily care and meeting the care needs of children aged two to 4 years 11 months, which includes toilet training and nappy changing nappies
• Supporting or leading educational activities
• Conducting activities such as craft, stories and singing, music and cooking
• Helping with outdoor activities and play
• Observing and assessing children to help their learning
• Work with the team to ensure children are meeting their milestones and identifying when children may need additional support
• Be involved in staff meetings and training opportunities
• Preparing and tidying away the learning environment
• Ensuring a clean environment
• Helping with snack and mealtimes
• Building relationships with parents/carers

Apprenticeship qualification and training

• Early Years Practitioner (Level 2)
• Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)
• Participating in interactive webinars
• Completion of your portfolio

Career progression

• The opportunity to progress within the setting and enrol on to the Early Years Educator upon timely completion of your Early Years Practitioner.
