Overview
Metroline offer an apprenticeship that will allow the individual to have the ability to learn and adapt their skills with the fast moving industry we are in. Working on the most up to date vehicles within London (EV & Hydrogen) buses. Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs and diagnostics. Making sure they are a well rounded engineer.
About the apprenticeship
Mechanical and Electrical Tasks within:
- Chassis Systems
- Transmission Systems
- Engine / Alternative Fuel Systems
- Body Systems
- inspections
- Electrical systems
This also includes Health and safety, working with others and house keeping.
Apprenticeship qualification and training
The apprentice will obtain a IMI level 3 standard in bus and coach. Progressing in to higher qualifications. Providing support in functional skills if required.
Training will be carried out within our workshops. Theory based work will be supported at our training site in Perivale.
The training at Perivale will be block release.
Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

About the employer
Metrolines fleet consist of 1674 buses, which includes over 700 hybrid buses that have the highest environmental credentials available, and by the end of 2019 almost 100 all-electric buses will be in service in the fleet. we also have included new hydrogen vehicles within our fleet, meaning that we are the for front of new technology within the industry.
