Health and Social Care

Our health and social care courses will help learners to build specialist skills and professional knowledge of working in healthcare settings

Healthcare comes in many forms, from looking after elderly patients in care home settings, to providing care to children with high needs and helping patients in hospital settings, therefore healthcare workers need to understand health conditions to treat patients professionally, respectfully and with dignity.

Our courses will allow learners to gain recognised certificates that can demonstrate competence in an acute area, such as mental health, autism or dementia.

Working in healthcare settings can bring risks and challenges, so some of our courses will help learners to understand critical practices around hygiene, health and safety and controlling the spread of infection.

Caring for patients with mental health conditions requires specific capabilities and our courses will help learners to understand the role of mental health workers and the regulatory and legislative aspects that underpin the sector.

All areas of healthcare require treating patients from different backgrounds and with complex needs, so our courses can help to develop knowledge of equality, diversity and duty of care in the profession.
