On Monday 16th July 2018 Total People’s head office in Middlewich opened its doors for a private view of this year’s work by the Tamarind Project.

Tamarind is aimed at developing young people into the best version of themselves through the Arts.

The display and celebration event on Monday treated us to real insights into the young people’s talents; from drawing to singing to music, each young person shone with their own unique skill set.

Learners on the project work towards an NCFE Level 1 in Art and Design, and our EQA, Samantha, shared in our event. The project received excellent feedback, with Samantha commenting that many of the pieces were so maturely resolved that she would have said they were by professional commercial illustrators.

Jane Mackenzie, our project lead at Total People commented:

I am always very proud and feel honoured to be able to facilitate such honest visual expressions of our learner’s ideas. The space at Group House has allowed us to share what we do. We hope everybody enjoyed it.

The values and beliefs of the Tamarind Project are:

T RANSPARENCY
A CHIEVEMENT
M INDFULNESS
A DAPTABILTY
R ESPECT
I NSPIRE
N URTURE
D IVERSITY

It was a privilege to see these values and beliefs, which are shared so passionately across the group, in physical form.
