At Hotel Gotham you will have the chance to earn while you learn alongside talented and innovative chefs. The Production Chef L2 Apprenticeship is open to anyone from school leavers to those simply looking for a change in career. No previous experience is necessary, all we ask is for lots of enthusiasm, team spirit and the drive to succeed!
About the apprenticeship
A range of skills and behaviours will be developed throughout the programme, using a variety of approaches both in and out of the kitchen environment. The role will include:
- Food preparation
- Cooking skills and techniques to produce and present dishes
- Designing menus in line with the business requirements
- Food Safety this is of paramount importance! You will understand all food safety requirements and the law regarding this within the kitchen. You will expand your knowledge with the importance of allergens, safe systems of work and safe work practices.
- Menus working with some of the finest ingredients and local produce available, you will quickly learn how seasonality fits into availability, quality and price of ingredients.
- Any other duties as requested by the Senior Chef

About the employer
Hotel Gotham is located at 100 King Street in the central conservation area and is housed in one of the city’s grandest, listed buildings - a former premises of Midland Bank. Standing at the head of King Street, proudly atop the hill amidst architectural nods to the Grecian and Baroque, Hotel Gotham draws inspiration from these surroundings and rises up as an imposing castle of stone and steel.
