Overview
To work as part of a team assist in the day to day organisation and running of the nursery area. Ensuring the highest standards of care and at all times creating a happy, safe and stimulating environment. Developing strong relationships with the children and discreetly, observing and monitoring them to ensure their individual needs are met
About the apprenticeship
- You have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children as a priority focus within their day to day practice
- To promote and extend the enjoyment of the children and their personal learning by having high expectations of all children, treating them as individuals and providing opportunities that interest them within the Early Year Foundation Stage framework
- Providing full care for the children including: high standards of cleanliness & hygiene, providing children with refreshments, snacks, lunch and high tea
- Ensuring the security of children, personal belongings and premises by following policies, procedures and health and safety risk assessments
- Encouraging the children's involvement in shaping their day and where appropriate agreeing rules, participation in planning activities and their environment
- Encouraging parental involvement and support
- Attending meetings and training courses as appropriate in order to keep up to date with new legislation and child care practice
- Carrying out all responsibilities within the equal opportunities framework and providing a service that positively promotes inclusion for all
- Working within agreed policies and procedures
- Any other reasonable duties as required
Apprenticeship qualification and training
- Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
- For anyone who already has a qualification in Early Years there is the potential to do a Level 3 Early Years Qualification
