About the apprenticeship

We are currently recruiting for two Engineering Apprentices to join our Cheshire maintenance teams based at the Macclesfield / Alderley Park Sites. Reporting to the Sodexo Apprenticeship Manager, you will be a proactive customer focused individual, enthusiastic and have the ability to communicate and build relationships with team members / peers.

The apprentice scheme will last for a period of 4 years. During the first 3 years, you will cover a broad syllabus of training to including Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines while attending college on day release basis. Academic study will be combined with onsite placements across the account to gain exposure to different areas of our Sodexo business. The final year of the apprenticeship will consolidate all the acquired learning in one placement in preparation for successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

Main duties may include most of the following:

  • Working on fixed equipment
  • Working to planned and re-active servicing schedules
  • Checking and calibrating instruments
  • Fitting new parts
  • Quality inspections
  • Emergency breakdowns
  • Fixing faults, arranging for replacement equipment
  • Equipment installation
  • Following manufacturer's technical manuals
  • Fault finding
  • Using test instruments and tools
  • Maintain electrical equipment

The programme is supported by our specialist training partners Total People Ltd. They will  provide support throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme. The apprenticeship scheme with Sodexo is a fixed term contract for a period of 4 years however, our ambition is to provide employment on completion in line with business requirements aligned to account succession / development plans.
